Prior publication

Manuscripts submitted to Civitas should not have been previously published elsewhere.

By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge that, if the manuscript is accepted for publication, the journal will publish it under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License (CC BY 4.0).

Reuse of published works

Under this licence, authors agree that their works may lawfully be reused for any purpose without the need to obtain prior permission from the author or the publisher.

Anyone may read, download, copy, print, distribute, and adapt these works, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author and the original place of publication is properly acknowledged.

Authors’ rights

Authors retain copyright in their works without any further restrictions.

Once an article has been published in Civitas, authors are free to make the full text available without restriction in institutional repositories, on academic networking platforms such as Academia.edu and ResearchGate, and on their personal websites, provided that the original publication in the journal is properly acknowledged.

Once a work has been published in both electronic and print form in Civitas, authors remain free to grant rights in the work to other parties.
