For reviewers
Peer review
The journal “Studia Polityczne” is committed to peer-review integrity and upholding the highest standards of review.
The Editors conduct a preliminary screening as to whether the submission complies with ‘Aims and Scope” of the Journal, ‘Instruction for Authors’, and ethical standards of the Journal (COPE’s Core Practices and Guidelines https://publicationethics.org/ ). At this stage each article is verified by Crossref Similarity Check powered by iThenticate https://www.crossref.org/services/similarity-check/ .
After the screening the Editors may decide on a desk reject or may send the article to external reviewers under double blind peer review procedure. The Editors make sure that each article is reviewed by at least two independent experts, qualified in the field(s) covered by the article and not affiliated in the same institution as the author(s) of the article.
External Reviewers assess the scientific relevance of the topic for the discipline, originality of the method/approach to the topic, consistency and logic of the argument, clear formulation of the purpose of the article, correct argumentation and inference, relevance of sources and data. Each external reviewer concludes their assessment with a final evaluation: a) acceptance without corrections; b) minor revision; c) major revision; d) reject. The Editors make a decision on the basis of the reviews. In case of a revision, the Editors may send the revised article to external Reviewers for a subsequent round of reviews.
External Reviewers keep in confidence the details concerning the review process. They should provide written, unbiased, and constructive feedback in a timely manner, while indicating ways to improve the manuscript. Reviewers should disclose any conflict of interest, ethical concerns, bias, plagiarism, or any other misconduct discovered.
