The article attempts to analyse the educational policy of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2020 and 2021, which is in response to the challenges related to the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic. The aim of the study is to describe the problems faced by Kyrgyz education after the outbreak of the pandemic, the education policy pursued under restrictions and the difficulties related to the transition to distance learning. An additional aim of the analysis is to show the specificity of the Kyrgyz problems in the described area as development challenges for the post-Soviet state and to show how the situation in education translates into socio-political attitudes in the context of the growing power crisis in the state.
