Abstract

Since 2000, India and Russia have been linked by a strategic partnership, which in 2010 was elevated to the rank of „special and privileged”. The aim of the article is to present what Russian-Indian relations look like since February 2022. The analysis includes the first year after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The author will look at three areas of cooperation: political, military and in the energy sector. The issue of joint plans for the Arctic will also be discussed. The main research problem will be finding the answer to the question: what future awaits the Russian-Indian partnership? The author’s hypothesis assumed that the relations between the partners would slowly deteriorate. This will be influenced by two factors: 1) India’s efforts to diversify its arms supplies; 2) weakening the potential of the Russian Federation, deterioration of its relations with the West and further closer relations with China.
