Abstract

The aim of the proposed analyses is to draw attention to the underestimated role of the political rhetoric of images in the thought of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. In this article, I redescribe political experience, which goes beyond the horizon of the linguistic turn and, through the lens of the image, turns to political and social analysis. Reinterpreting and updating the idea of the hegemonic staging of the people in an image-based context leads me to ask questions in this text that Laclau and Mouffe either do not explicitly pose or do not answer.
