Abstract

What design for a society emerges from the text of the Charter of Fundamental Rights? The Charter articulates values, expresses their connection to practices (actions) and derives from these values standards for action. Who articulates and acknowledges these values? Is the entity which designates them values the same as the one which acknowledges them? If not, what is the relation between the two? The article contains a socio-philosophical analysis of the values expressed in the Charter of Fundamental Rights, such as social solidarity, neutrality of world-view or social consensus.
