In 2023, just before the October parliamentary elections in Poland, the Council for Social Affairs of the Polish Bishops' Conference issued a document called 'Vademecum wyborcze katolika'. This article presents an analysis of this document, together with a comparison of its content, with the election programmes of the political parties taking part in this election. The aim of the article is to indicate whether the Catholic Church in Poland called for voting for a particular grouping taking part in the election. The first part of the article presents the political context of the 2023 parliamentary elections held in Poland. The second part focuses on the analysis of the document signed by the bishops. The last part of the paper is a comparison of this document with the political programmes of Polish political parties, current as of the election day.
