The article constitutes a personal reflection by a streetworker working with homeless people in Kraków, who combines the experiences of a field social worker with the perspective of a researcher. The author describes her journey from support work to scientific activity, showing the mutual inspirations between streetworking and ethnography. She analyzes the similarities and differences between both approaches, pointing to the potential enhancement of homelessness research with practical tools used by streetworkers, as well as the value of ethnographic reflexivity in support work. The text highlights the significance of relationships, empathy, and ethics in both roles and points to the need to develop new research methods and sensitivities for analyzing the phenomenon of homelessness.
