Digital Entrapment: A Systematic Review of Addictive Digital Technology and Mitigation Strategies

Abstrakt

Autorka analizuje złożoną dynamikę technologii uzależniających, biorąc pod uwagę wpływ technologii na jednostki i całe społeczeństwo. Silny związek między projektowaniem technologii, manipulacją zachowaniami użytkowników oraz społeczno-ekonomicznymi konsekwencjami wskazuje na to, że niezbędne jest zrozumienia tych aspektów, czyli pogłębienie wiedzy na temat negatywnych skutków perswazyjnego projektowania technologii. Chociaż liczba badań w tej dziedzinie rośnie, brakuje szerokich analiz łączących wnioski z różnych dziedzin, co mogłyby dać całościowy obraz problemu. Tekst stanowi pierwszy systematyczny przegląd literatury skoncentrowany na technologii uzależniającej. Sformułowano następujące problemy badawcze: (1) Jak rozwijały się badania nad uzależniającą technologią? (2) Jak uzależniająca technologia jest konceptualizowana? (3) Jakie rozwiązania są proponowane, aby zaradzić problemowi uzależniającej technologii? Wnioski mają służyć użytkownikom tych technologii oraz zmotywować firmy technologiczne do minimalizowania strategii manipulacyjnych na etapie projektowania nowych technologii.
