The aim of the article is to analyze the poetic work of Urszula Zajączkowska in terms of the presence of symbiotic motifs. Glenn Albrecht’s concept of the Symbiocene, which follows the Anthropocene, envisions a new era in which humanity ceases to dominate nature and instead enters into relationships based on mutual support. Unlike the Anthropocene, characterized by the destructive human interference in ecosystems, the Symbiocene entails building connections with other organisms. In Zajączkowska’s poetry, a sensitivity to the links between the human world and the worlds of plants, animals, and microorganisms is evident. The poet illustrates that every being is part of a larger whole, in which symbiosis constitutes the fundamental mechanism of survival and balance. This perspective reflects a hope for breaking away from an anthropocentric outlook and the development of symbiotic thinking, which opposes the exploitative logic of the Anthropocene.
